Developers Focus on Utilizing the New Sophisticated Features of the iPhone 3GS and OS 3.0

The introduction of iPhone 3G S, which runs on the new OS 3.0, has brought in an interesting pie-slicing problem for iPhone app developers. Until now, developers concentrated on the features of a single operating system that all of the first and second generation iPhones supported. But, with the third generation iPhone, which only runs on the OS 3.0, developers will now have to think from two perspectives while developing an application. So, if the developers focus only on the added features of the new device and build all sophisticated apps, then they would limit their market to a great extent.

So, every iPhone developer is now concentrating on expanding their creativity to enhance their existing apps, which will perfectly run on all the iPhone handsets. They are doing it by incorporating iPhone OS 3.0 enabled capabilities to their apps, like the push notification system and the MMS support. Here are 3 selective iPhone applications that are rightly upgraded to suite the sophisticated features of the new device.

BeejiveIM 3.0 with Push

Category: Social Networking

Released Date: 22 June 2009

Seller: Beejive Inc. © 2009 Beejive, Inc.

BeejiveIM was perhaps one of the most sought-after social networking iPhone apps in the App Store. Beejive Inc had a web-based instant messaging client even before Apple APIs was released to build ‘real’ iPhone applications. Push notification is the new feature that has been added to the application. This feature was enabled after the release of iPhone OS 3.0. So, what does this new feature do? Well, the push notification will allow BeejiveIM to send you notifications if any of your IM accounts – which includes iChat, AIM, GoogleTalk, Yahoo, MSN, Facebook IM, Jabber and ICQ - have incoming messages, even when the program is not running.

Even though there are many other IM clients, BeejiveIM for its wealth of options (SMS, chat history, hyperlink support and pop-up add blocking) and more integrated and convenient user interface has always been preferred by users.

How far they succeeds – we’ll find very soon.
